MANNAM made World Peace Festival!

Many people may remember the World Peace Festival. I think it was a great chance for everyone to know about MANNAM. You may have been there or you may have seen the video on YouTube or you may just heard that World Peace Festival was held in Korea from somebody in somewhere.

What is World Peace Festival?

World Peace Festival is global festival wishing for the world peace. There were sport games, performances and events regarding of world peace. MANNAM held this festival supported by Shinchonji. It was held in Jamsil Olympic Main Stadium in Seoul, Korea in September 16^th 2012. More than 200,000 people from all over the world came and enjoyed the festival. It lasted for a day from morning till night. About 50 foreign presses came and broadcasted this festival in their countries. ‘Azteca America (One of American Press)’ even filmed all preparation procedures and made documentary about it.

 I was also there and it was a really, really nice experience. The Olympic Stadium was full of many many people, many many presses, many many Korean and Foreigners and many many VIPs. (I don’t know who they are exactly :P)

Then why MANNAM held this festival?

 The chairwoman of MANNAM, NAM HEE KIM, said that “MANNAM has been volunteering out of view to be a needful being of the world like sunlight, rain or air.” She also said “Although the history of humanity is covered with blood of war, we hope the world would be a painless and warless place for everyone including the Middle East.”

 MANNAM hopes that through this festival the wave of world peace and unity spread and fill the whole world. And I think it was a good time for everyone who participated in the festival to think about what is peace and how can we make peace.

  

Performances during the Festival!

 The festival was preceded with many events. There were many performances, accompanied events and sport games.

 Among them, for me, the Mass Game performed by 1900 MANNAM members was the most impressive performance that I have ever seen. During the Mass Game many people (including me :P) took pictures and  videos. It was really nice. I couldn’t believe that it is possible. And I've got to think about their efforts to show that awesome performance to us. I’m really thankful to them for showing this fantastic performance.

 Apart from that, the highlight of the festival was “Lantern Lightening”. More than 100,000 people lit the light at the same time. Unfortunately I couldn’t see this performance (I had to come back home in time :C) but later I saw the pictures and video clips and it was fascinating! It’s like the numerous stars lighting in the darkness. I thought that it shows the ultimate goal of MANNAM. To light the whole world with hope and love. Although now the world is full of darkness (such as war, nuclear thing or crime), soon If we work together, each of us can be the light shining in the darkness.

 The relative of MANNAM said that “Little light of lantern alone is dim but many put together becomes strong light to shatter away the darkness. As such, the lantern performance portrays a message for us individuals to become the light of peace to shine of the dark world of wars and conflicts.” is the motive of the show.

What did I see in World Peace Festival?

 I saw the possibility. Possibility of the world peace. I’m sure that just one awake person can change the world and no need to say about 200,000 people. Start was made by just one small thing. Just as the airplane was invented by the hope to fly of two young boys, everything has a very small beginning point. I think WPF of MANNAM can be a footstep toward world peace. Don’t say that world peace is impossible unless you step your foot forward.
